MultiValue: IBM U2 Databases sold to Rocket Software

Dear UniVerse or UniData Customer,
As you may have heard, IBM has agreed to sell the U2 (uniVerse and UniData) business unit to Rocket Software. This includes all of the U2 products: uniVerse, uniData, System Builder and wIntegrate.
There are multiple reasons for this sale, all of them very good for U2 customers.....
· The U2 group is a very profitable and successful group within the IBM portfolio of database products. There are over 65,000 customers and 4,000,000 end users of the U2 products world wide.
· The U2 management team at IBM felt that the Research and Development and Marketing resources that they were allotted at IBM did not match what the U2 products were deserving of, especially given the customer loyalty, the group profitability and the product capability.
· The U2 management team is amazingly loyal to their customer base and product excellence, and accordingly has been seeking a better corporate home for this amazing suite of databases and tools. When they found Rocket Software, they discovered a welcome home for these terrific products and the professional team that engineers, supports, markets and sells the U2 products.
· Rocket Software has a long history of acquiring quality products and the teams that have created them. More importantly, they retain the product teams while providing the capitol and energy to launch those products to higher levels of success. Rocket Software has been in business since 1990, has over 700 employees and 22 offices worldwide. They have a long and deep relationship with IBM and are a very trusted IBM partner.
So what can you expect going forward?
· The uniVerse and UniData teams remain in place. Every employee that works on the U2 products will be hired by Rocket Software. All the engineers, support personnel, marketing, sales and administration personnel will still be working on your U2 products everyday.
· You can still call Modular for support at our helpdesk (1-866-647-3757, extension 1), or at helpdesk@miscorp.com and still receive the quality U2 support and product upgrades that you always have.
· We will receive new web site addresses, contact emails and telephone numbers for the U2 team and products at Rocket Software in the future. All of the IBM contact information will work until we are notified otherwise.
· We will see more database software development and enhancements in our future releases.
· We will see greater sales & marketing visibility on our U2 databases.
